The annual awards luncheon was held at the Hilton Hotel in Beaumont on Tuesday, August 28th with over 300 attendees.
The mission of the GTBR is to promote cost effective construction and maintenance through the cooperative efforts of owners and contractors for the benefit of its members and the community. The safety awards, since its inception in 1991, has proven that improvements in contractor safety reduces the costs of construction and maintenance work in Southeast Texas industrial plants. The Safety Committee believes the excellent contractor safety programs and the reduction of injuries in the last ten years have been key elements in attracting the growth Southeast Texas has been experiencing.

Accepting for Conex was Darren Mason, Safety Manager, for Mason Construction was Mr. Brad Mason, Executive Vice President, and for Protherm was Sheryll Barker, C.E.O. Mr. John Brentari, Manager of Maintenance & Reliability at Motiva and Mr. Scott Watjus, Chairman of the GTBR and Supply Chain Manager for Motiva, presented the awards on behalf of Motiva Port Arthur Refinery.
