Date: February 10, 2006 To: Local Media From: Sue Parsley Motiva and Shell Donate $100,000 to Help Form SE Texas Rebuilding Together Affiliate Motiva Enterprises LLC and Shell will make a $100,000.00 donation to Rebuilding Together to help form the SE Texas affiliate. Randy Henry – Co-Chairman of Rebuilding Together Houston said; “Thank you Motiva and Shell for this $100,000 grant to Rebuilding Together. This grant, along with contributions by other corporations and churches, will offset the start-up and early operating costs of Rebuilding Together Southeast Texas. These costs include contractor invoices and repair material costs used by volunteers to restore houses of elderly or disabled, low-income Rita survivors in Beaumont, Port Arthur, Vidor and Orange.” The first phase of the “home repair” project is scheduled for February 10, 11 and 18. Six homes will be restored in this phase. In addition to the monetary contribution, Motiva Port Arthur Refinery and Shell volunteers will provide sweat equity to help restore homes in the community. Volunteers from Shell have participated in numerous projects with this organization and some of these experienced workers are coming to assist the Motiva volunteers and, member of the Motiva Community Action Team, with their first Rebuilding Together project. Employees, retirees and friends will work side by side to repair a home located at 1749 DeQueen Blvd in Port Arthur, Texas on Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11. Please join us on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 1:00pm to cover this extremely worthwhile community service project. XXX If additional information is needed please contact Sue Parsley (409) 289-1190.
